Lovetuner CEO & Co-Founder, Sigmar Berg, invites Lovetuner advocates to share their stories and their journeys!
On today’s podcast, we discuss personal growth and overall wellbeing with Poonacha Machaiah, the Ambassador of Wellbeing. You can also find him at Warrior Monk, which aims to create resilience through compassionate transformation. Machaiah has worked on several projects with both wellness groups and leaders of all types, creating resilience through mental health awareness and the skill of self-awareness.
We are also excited to host Gabriella Wright, activist & actress, to speak about her spiritual movement and about her documentary narrative “I am Never Alone” which speaks about the journey of a mother who lost her son to suicide. She then meets Deepak Chopra and asks all the most difficult questions, such as how to explain suicide, and how to detect suicidal ideation. How can we keep living afterward, and is it possible to transform the pain?
In this episode, Machaiah mentions that our best friend is our breath. Breath is the one friend that stays with us from the moment we are born to the moment we die. It’s one of our most essential abilities and yet, we rarely pay attention to it. That’s why Lovetuner is based around the intentional breath. Breath meditation, also called breath therapy, gets us to focus on our breath and connect to our body. This form of mindfulness is very popular for grounding techniques, such as soothing someone from an anxiety attack. This is because deep breathing triggers the parasympathetic system, the opposite of the nervous system, which creates feelings of calmness and security. Lung health in general is very important to our wellbeing and longevity, so why don’t we pay more attention to it? One simple way to start helping your mental and physical health is by using the powers of deep breathing, and Lovetuner makes that easy!
In this episode, we also discuss the importance of finding yourself, and not living within preset limitations. One of the keys to success is actually NOT looking towards family members and friends to boost your confidence in new projects or activities. While they may be one of your biggest support systems in everyday life, it’s been noted that they’re the last people to boost us into forms of new growth. This is because of the change it entails and changes you into a partially new person to them. This isn’t to say you shouldn’t share with them, or that they’ll never be supportive, just that you’re going outside of the limitations of your persona in their head. As we all know, limitations can also be societal. Placing emotional limitations, time, or even on the ability to help others, and reach your truest self. Self-discovery and building your self-esteem help take away the need for approval. Once you actually find yourself and live your truth, you’ll be a stronger person. Be sure to check out the rest of our articles for information using Lovetuner for self-discovery and reflection!
But how can we use these positive forms of impact when it’s just yourself on an individual basis? You provide the resources! You can’t force anyone to take action but you can give them inspiration and open the gate for them to do so. Reflect on the moment that you realized there was more to life — all the days, years before then, how much did you know you were missing? Once you started, how many resources and lessons have you picked up from then to now? If we can be an open book, other people learn to do the same, and they go on to teach others too! Giving meditation help and tips for mindfulness is certainly helpful for adults, but so is exposure to nature. When we can see how nature works together, but also how it is struggling in our current system, we gain the resource of knowledge (another form of wealth!). Finding activities to get involved in, or create communal activities, is a great way to make a major impact on those around you. Volunteer programs are actually full of educational and experience resources. Not only will you help the clients of those programs, but you and other workers will gain unique experiences and insights. These programs can also have a positive impact on children who don’t have the best home life, or simply too much free time, and can help provide them a positive space to keep out of trouble and learn. All in all, the positive impact you get isn’t limited to you — love and compassion radiates, and it spreads. It’s a regenerative resource after all! One of the best ways to create an empathetic community is to focus on the upcoming generations and small movements, working up to corporations, and then moving into the government with community support.
Be sure to check out Poonacha Machaiah at Warrior Monk — he also works with Deepak Chopra on a few projects! You can also find out more information about Gabriella Wright and the project Never Alone, with a team including Chopra and Machaiah as well!
